It is important that you wait at least 4 weeks from the time of potential exposure to infection before collecting your sample, as STI’s take time to become detectable.

Syphilis and hepatitis B can take 12 weeks to become detectable. If you are worried about potential exposure to these infections, you should wait at least 12 weeks from the time of potential exposure before collecting your sample.

If you are worried about potential exposure to any of STIs you should refrain from sexual activity until you receive a test result. Retesting after treatment for a positive result may be required for some infections.
