The diabetes test is a great way to measure your average blood glucose (HbA1c) levels over the last 10-12 weeks and your Type 2 diabetes risk. This test will tell you whether your blood glucose levels are in the healthy range for your gender and age group.

The HbA1c test is the most common test used to assess the risk of pre-diabetes and monitor Type 2 diabetes to see how well treatment plans are working. It provides a snapshot of blood glucose levels over the past two to three months.

You should consider testing if:

  • You have diabetes type 1 or type 2
  • You have a family history of diabetes
  • You are presenting with symptoms of diabetes.
This test should be taken while fasting, or in other words, before you have eaten or drank anything that morning (other than water).
